In a world where inclusivity and accessibility are vital, the need for dedicated support systems for individuals with autism has never been greater. Today, we are proud to introduce ORAA Autism & Youth Centre, a platform committed to transforming the lives of individuals on the autism spectrum and empowering youth across Kenya.
With the official launch of our website, .oraautismcentre.org, we aim to provide a hub for information, support, advocacy, and community engagement for families, caregivers, and individuals with autism. This milestone marks the beginning of a movement that will change how autism is perceived, supported, and integrated into society.
Why ORAA?
Autism is not a disability-it's a different ability. However, in Kenya, over 2.2 million individuals on the autism spectrum lack access to specialized education, therapy, and employment opportunities. The stigma, misconceptions, and limited resources make it difficult for individuals with autism to reach their full potential.
At ORAA Autism & Youth Centre, we are committed to:
Our Key Initiatives
1. Jenga Autism Centre na 20 Bob - Building Hope, One Shilling at a Time
"Imagine if every Kenyan contributed just 20 bob!" This is the concept behind our Jenga Autism Centre na 20 Bob Campaign- a long-term fundraising initiative encouraging millions of Kenyans to donate as little as Ksh. 20 towards the construction of an Autism and Youth Complex.
Every small contribution adds up to a life-changing impact, ensuring that children and young adults on the autism spectrum get access to quality care, education, and support. You can donate via Mpesa Paybill 522533, Account 7934554.
2. Cycle for Empowerment 2025 - Ride for Inclusion & Autism Awareness
From May 25, 2025, ORAA will host the Cycle for Empowerment, a 10-day cycling event from Nairobi to Mombasa. This initiative aims to raise Ksh. 50 million to fund the Autism and Youth Complex, a safe space where individuals with autism can thrive.
Cycling for a cause has never been this meaningful!
How You Can Get Involved
The launch of the ORAA website is not just about information - it's about action. Here's how you can be part of this journey:
Together, we can build a future where every individual, regardless of their abilities, is valued and empowered.
